Health Care Spending Accounts:
Health Care Spending Accounts are similar to chequing accounts. Amounts are allocated to each employee’s account each year and the employee uses the account to pay for health and dental expenses that are not covered under his/her benefit plan, or for deductibles and co-insurance. These accounts can be provided on a stand-alone basis within a traditional benefits plan or as part of a flexible benefits plan. Who Will Be Covered By The Orpp
Most employees who report to a workplace of an employer inOntario will be covered by the ORPP. This includes: individualswho report to work at an employer establishment in Ontario and individuals who do not report to such an establishment, but who arepaid from such an establishment. The term “employee”includes directors of a corporation. Various exemptions apply, including for employees who participate in a”Comparable Plan”.

In 2004 this was more evident than ever as hundreds of our colleagues were affected by the Florida hurricanes. Immediately following the storms, HCA Healthcare employees throughout the United States wanted to know how they could help. I saw an add for this job and noticed the starting pay was more than I was making even after being employed there for several months. They will hire anyone off the street and then wonder why the call in rate was so high. They praise the weekend shift workers and offer incentives over the weekend. But as for the weekday shifts.. you might as well be invisible.. your check too because the pay is so low. For the amount of things you will do and handle day to day with your clients.. it is almost not worth it.
My clients and I get along well. The pay however is not up to par with other companies with the same position. There are no benefits, and no growth potential. Little to no contact with other employees.
Not allowed to use sick time without guilt trips. Encouraged to do your shifts while ill. Pressure to fill in for for unscheduled shifts. No respect for caregivers time or feed back. No raises or perks. No opportunity for advancement.
